Magic Quadrant Leader

Micro Focus has been named a Leader in the Gartner 2019 Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing report. This marks the sixth time that Micro Focus has been named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing report.

As part of its evaluation, Gartner reviewed several AST products and services within the Micro Focus Fortify portfolio, including: Static Code Analyzer (SAST), WebInspect (DAST), Software Security Center and Application Defender.

According to the report, “DevSecOps, modern web application design and high-profile breaches are expanding the scope of the AST market. Security and risk management leaders will need to meet tighter deadlines and test more complex applications by accelerating efforts to integrate and automate AST in the software life cycle.”

“The evolving threat landscape fundamentally requires solutions that contain a comprehensive set of enterprise-class capabilities,” said Scott Johnson, Fortify General Manager for Micro Focus. “Since the report’s inception Fortify has been recognised as a Leader in application security testing solutions achieving industry acknowledgement for its breadth and depth of products, and for its ability to meet the needs of customers across the application security spectrum.”

Fortify delivers complete solutions for both on-premise and as a service offerings that enable customers the flexibility of choice based on their application security needs. The updated portfolio is fully integrated into any DevOps tool chain with enhanced automation capabilities.

Micro Focus has announced that it has expanded its global datacenter network with the opening of a data hosting facility in Frankfurt, Germany.

The new facility delivers Micro Focus’ industry leading Information Archiving solutions to private organisations operating in the EU region enabling them to be better prepared in relation to compliance with regulatory, government and privacy mandates, including GDPR and other data privacy laws through a unified archiving approach.

The new datacenter provides businesses of all sizes the ability to capture and preserve numerous data types, such as email, mobile, social media communication, including attachments, files and transactional data. The data is captured in a way that enables customers to both optimise storage and allow immediate access for eDiscovery.

“The local importance of this facility cannot be overstated,” said Ken Muir, Vice President Worldwide Sales, Archiving & Risk Management at Micro Focus. “This center enables a sophisticated security framework for any company operating within the EU region that begins with seeking regulation-driven data storage and ends with actionable insights that drive bottom-line business value.”

The Micro Focus global datacenter offers the EU market Information Archiving Software-as-a-Service via their Digital Safe and Retain product portfolio providing a mature solution for organisational data governance, security, discovery and oversight. This unified archiving approach for enterprises offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Highly customisable and managed processing to fit individual customer demands
  • Simplified multi-platform support and deployment along with immediate time to value
  • Flexibility of public cloud or dedicated cloud SaaS offering depending upon organisational needs
  • Enablement for worldwide compliance and security standards

The opening of the German datacenter comes as demand for Micro Focus’ Information Archiving solutions is accelerating rapidly in EMEA. Their Digital Safe archiving solution was recently recognised as a Leader in The Radicati Group Information Archiving MQ 2019 for its Functionality and Strategic Vision. In their evaluation, Radicati highlighted that “Digital Safe, in conjunction with its information governance portfolio, can meet the most rigorous compliance requirements of large global enterprises.”
